Build practical, real-world money and business skills through hands-on learning designed for SS1 students. In this track, students discover how businesses are created and run, how money moves through an economy, and how smart financial decisions are made at both personal and business levels. Students will explore the roles of entrepreneurs, consumers, banks, and markets, and learn how everyday choices—spending, saving, borrowing, and investing shape financial wellbeing. Students will develop core financial literacy skills such as budgeting and cashflow planning, saving and goal-setting, understanding credit and debt, and interpreting simple financial records (income, expenses, profit/loss). On the business side, they’ll learn how to identify problems worth solving, research customers, set prices, calculate profit, and build basic marketing and sales strategies. Learning is reinforced through practical activities, short case studies, teamwork, and a capstone project where students create a clear business idea, outline a simple plan, and present a pitch. By the end of the track, students will be able to make informed financial decisions, spot opportunities, explain how a business earns and manages money, and confidently communicate a business concept using real numbers and clear reasoning—building leadership, creativity, and problem-solving skills for school and beyond.
