About
SS1: Health and Medicine Track is designed for students who want to understand how the natural world works and how technology is used to solve real problems. You’ll build a strong foundation in SS1 Health and Meds subjects aligned with NERDC including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Further Mathematics (where applicable), Computer Studies/ICT, and Technical Drawing, using clear explanations, guided practice, and everyday examples you can relate to. Throughout the program, you’ll develop key skills such as problem-solving, scientific thinking, practical reasoning, digital literacy, and confident communication through guided activities, short and practical assignments. By the end of SS1, you’ll be able to explain basic scientific concepts, apply formulas and methods correctly, use technology tools more confidently, and approach questions with accuracy and clear reasoning. This Track is built around skill-building for students who want to think logically, learn independently, and gain strong Health and Meds foundations for school and beyond. You’ll learn core ideas across science and technology while practicing the skills that help you succeed in exams, projects, and real-life problem-solving at your own pace with JLD i-Academy guidance. In each module, you’ll strengthen problem-solving (working through calculations and structured questions), scientific inquiry (observing, testing ideas, and drawing conclusions), practical skills (basic experiments, measurements, and technical drawing tasks), and digital skills (computer use, online learning habits, and responsible tech use). You’ll also build study skills, accuracy, and confidence through practice sets, mini projects, weekly assessments, and progress checkpoints. By the end of SS1, you’ll be able to solve more questions correctly, explain science ideas in your own words, complete practical tasks with better precision, and participate confidently exams, and health-focused discussions.
