About
SS1: Architectural, Building and Construction Track equips students with a strong foundation in the built environment—combining core SS1 curriculum learning with practical, career-focused skills in design, construction, and project thinking. Students explore how buildings are planned, drawn, measured, and constructed, while developing the technical confidence, creativity, and problem-solving mindset needed for future pathways in architecture, civil engineering, building technology, quantity surveying, and construction management. Through guided, hands-on learning, students will: 1. Understand the basic principles of architectural design (space, form, function, and aesthetics) 2. Learn technical drawing and building plans (sketching, drafting, and simple layouts) 3. Explore building materials and construction methods suitable for local and modern contexts 4. Apply measurement, estimation, and basic costing concepts for real-world building projects 5. Build essential safety, teamwork, communication, and leadership skills for site and studio environments This track supports self-paced mastery, practical assignments, and mentorship—helping learners connect classroom knowledge to real construction and design challenges in Nigeria and beyond.
